As Head of People Development at Veolia, Matt leads a talented team of professionals with a shared vision to develop their 14,000 staff for business success. Veolia is the UK’s number one waste, water and energy services company and the People Development team play an important role in ensuring continued success.
Having previously worked within multiple sectors including Financial Services, Manufacturing and Housing; Matt has been at Veolia for four years and is committed to and passionate about the work of the company in the environment and the circular economy.
In a rapidly changing learning landscape, the People Development function are continually evolving to be more business aligned, data-driven and future-focused in moving the function to meet the demands of the 21st century. They work closely with the business to help build up an understanding of the learning needs of employees both now and in the future; advising on learning that will enable them to develop in their role and perform more effectively.
Moreover, Matt is passionate about growing talent through effective and innovative development programmes, using a blend of resources that will have maximum impact for learners and the business.
Matt sits on the Board of the Rural Enterprise Academy – a pioneering educational establishment, which aims to educate and inspire young people, training them for careers in the land-based, rural and environmental sustainability sectors.
