Since 2003 Richard has been working in the field of equality, diversity and inclusion. Richard began his career in financial services communications and then broadened out into Employee Engagement, Communications and creating and embedding strategy.
Richard is one of the founding directors of Inclusive Employers, the UK first membership body for organisations committed to building inclusive workplaces. Richard also is the idea behind National Inclusion Week, a national campaign each September that celebrates workplace inclusion and inspires action on inclusion. In 2018 around 900 UK organisations participated.
As a commercially astute "Inclusioneer" (Pioneer on Inclusion) Richard develops inclusion and diversity strategies that are rooted in the business/ organisational objectives for organisations across the public, private and third sectors. His work has successfully embedded inclusion into 'business as usual' activity to help companies measure the success and reap the rewards of a truly inclusive culture.
Richard is also a founder and a director of Strudel, a 17 year old creative communications agency in London that works with organisations committed to positive social change.
Richard currently works alongside members including Grant Thornton, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Network Rail, Arriva Rail London, The House of Lords, L&Q, Clarion Housing and many more.
Richard is married to Rupert and they live in a village in Hampshire.
