We will be joined at the event by Shehla Hasan, CBI Country Director for India. Shehla has recently been named as one of the eleven most influential women in the India/UK business corridor, so we are delighted that she will be visiting Yorkshire to share her expert insight on the emerging markets and opportunities in India. Shehla will speak about India in depth but also give a regional perspective on South Asia as a whole.
Shehla will be also be joined by a panel for a discussion on what British businesses need to do to be successful and how we can also encourage inward investment.

Shehla Hasan, CBI Country Director- India
Shehla Hasan has headed up the CBI India office in New Delhi since July 2012. Prior to joining the CBI, she led inward investment work and healthcare trade for UK Trade and Investment for Eastern and North-Eastern India out of the British Deputy High Commission in Kolkata - a position she held since 2007. She started her career as a corporate news reporter in Business Standard, one of India's leading business daily newspapers. She then spent four years working at the Indian Chamber of Commerce and had a brief stint as consulting editor at the Engineering Export Promotion Council. She holds an MA in political science from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and a professional diploma in management from the Open University Business School, UK.
