Equipping businesses with the skills for the digital revolution

CBI and Tata Consultancy Services launch survey on digital skills.

Equipping businesses with the skills for the digital revolution

Digital and data-driven technologies are transforming our workplaces, societies and lives. Digitisation is supercharging business growth, invigorating innovation, and driving the international prowess of the UK digital economy.

From computer literacy to coding, these technologies are driving changes in skills needs across all sectors. Over the coming years, businesses’ ability to adopt technology will be determined in large part by the skills within the UK workforce – often called digital skills.

To prepare the UK workforce today and get ahead of the digital curve, businesses and policymakers need more evidence and detail on what these specific digital skills needs are and how they are changing as technologies evolve.

In partnership with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the CBI has launched a survey to investigate the extent of digital skills gaps for UK business, how skills needs are changing, and how companies are ensuring their workforces have the skills needed to take advantage of the digital revolution.

The findings will directly influence policymakers at the highest level on digital skills and reskilling policy, as well as the National Retraining Partnership. This work will also inform the CBI’s insight and best practice on addressing businesses skills needs, today and in the future.
